Pat McCarthy is a professional music director, multi-instrumentalist, producer, songwriter and instructor. Music that he has produced has had placements on MTV, VH1, NBC, FOX and A&E. He has been featured on NoTreble.com, and is endorsed by Fender, Ampeg and other reputable music equipment brands.
McCarthy is currently Music Director for Warner Music country artist, Michael Ray. Performing on bass, synth bass, and background vocals, Pat and the team have been touring extensively since 2018. Currently, they are non-stop on Ray's "Dive Bars & Broken Hearts" tour. Additionally, Pat has expanded his musical direction and show design expertise by collaborating with one of CMT’s Next Women of Country, Alana Springsteen, further demonstrating his commitment to shaping captivating live performances.
Prior to his role with Michael Ray, McCarthy was Music Director for Cassadee Pope, the Grammy-nominated winner of NBC’s The Voice (season 3). In addition to arranging and designing Pope’s live sets, McCarthy also accompanied her on guitar and vocals during acoustic performances. For over five years, of Pope’s burgeoning career, McCarthy had backed her on national and international tours with acts such as Chris Young, Rascal Flatts, Tim McGraw, Dierks Bentley, Reba McEntire, Darius Rucker, George Strait, and many other beloved country legends. As veterans of Stagecoach, C2C, Country Thunder, Watershed, and many other festivals, Pope and her band had regularly received accolades for their stellar live sets. Along with a six-episode docu-series on CMT, their live TV performances have included America’s Got Talent, The Today Show, CMT Hot 20 Countdown and The Tonight Show.
Prior to his work with Pope, McCarthy spent twelve years honing his craft in the clubs and studios of NYC , refining his skills and laying the foundation for his successful career in the music industry. During this time, he was signed to an independent label and took on the roles of songwriter and producer. Alongside world-class producers including David Kahne, Anthony 'Rocky' Gallo, and Dan McLoughlin, he helped enhance the careers of many emerging artists in a variety of genres.
